MoneyGuard is a personal financial transparency tool that helps users compare rates, simulate investments, and understand real returns using public data sources.
Information We Collect
MoneyGuard is designed with privacy by design:
All preferences and calculations are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect, transmit, or store personal financial data, portfolio values, or calculation history on our servers.
No analytics, tracking, or third-party advertising is performed.
The app does not require an account or login.
The only data that leaves your device is:
Public API requests — the app fetches publicly available financial data (central bank rates, market prices, exchange rates, dividend yields) from government and third-party APIs. These requests do not include your identity or personal financial information.
Ask Grok feature (voluntary) — when you tap Ask Grok, the app copies a prompt (with your on-screen numbers) to your clipboard and opens grok.com. You decide whether to paste it.
Public Data Sources
Displayed data may come from public sources such as:
Bank of Canada (Valet API)
U.S. Treasury (fiscaldata.treasury.gov)
CoinGecko
metals.live
Frankfurter (exchange rates)
Yahoo Finance (dividend yields and metal charts)
Curated public bank rate references
How We Use Information
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, we cannot use or share it.
Children's Privacy
MoneyGuard is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
Delete all local data by uninstalling the app.
You are never required to use the Ask Grok feature.
Country selection (Canada / United States) is stored only on your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top.
Disclaimer
