About Us
Welcome to SHIELDGUARD INC – Protecting What Matters Most.
Founded in Ancaster, Ontario, SHIELDGUARD INC was born from the vision and determination of Clauzer Dziedziensky. Our company exists to bring the same advanced protection once reserved for corporate and hospital environments directly into Canadian homes.
Clauzer holds a technical background in Telecommunications (with a focus on engineering) and has more than 20 years of international experience with industry leaders such as Philips, Ericsson, FORE Systems, and Marconi PLC. He later built a successful solo career, creating a patented “Safe Room” for data centres that earned UL certification for fire, smoke, IP66, and electromagnetic field protection. He designed and built his own testing laboratory from the ground up, implementing a complete Quality Management System for accreditation and conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing.
After professional challenges brought him to Canada, Clauzer settled in the automotive industry (powder metallurgy). The COVID-19 pandemic, however, gave him a powerful new purpose: to protect Canadian families, especially seniors, with safe, accessible technology.
Our first product is the SHIELDGUARD INC HEPA Air Purifier with fully enclosed 265 nm UV-C, a compact, quiet system engineered to help keep your home’s air cleaner and fresher while meeting the highest Canadian safety standards.
And this is just the beginning. Soon, SHIELDGUARD INC will also launch a line of residential bunkers inspired by the same proven corporate Safe Room technology, delivering advanced protection against fire, smoke, and environmental threats right inside your home.
Proudly 100% Canadian. Designed, engineered, and manufactured right here in Ancaster, Ontario, every SHIELDGUARD INC product supports local jobs, drives homegrown innovation, reduces our dependence on imports, and strengthens Canada’s economy one protected household at a time.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to deliver intelligent protection technology that keeps your family safe and healthy without the hassle. Every product is created with the same technical rigour, passion, and respect for standards that have defined Clauzer’s entire career.
Because clean air and real protection aren’t luxuries. They’re Canadian necessities. And we’re here to deliver them, one secure home at a time.

Products and Services
1 - SHIELDGUARD HEPA AIR PURIFIER WITH PATHOGEN INACTIVATOR
Three Products in One:
- A HEPA+ Air Filter
- A Pathogen Inactivator with ultraviolet radiation
- A Chamber to place your personal belongings for sanitization
SHIELDGUARD INC introduces the ultimate air filter designed to safeguard your home and family. This advanced air filter utilizes state-of-the-art HEPA technology, effectively capturing microscopic particles and contaminants from the air drawn through your floor vents. It creates an airtight, positive pressure environment within your home, ensuring that only clean, filtered air circulates while preventing the infiltration of harmful pollutants. Engineered for maximum efficiency and reliability, this system provides a healthier living space for you and your loved ones.
NOTE: This is a professional performance product designed for residential applications.
A HEPA+ AIR FILTER
Our mobile air filter utilizes HEPA+ technology. This innovative device ensures clean and purified air in your home, providing you and your family with a healthier living environment. Breathe easy knowing that harmful particles are being captured.
The heart of the air filter is our cartridge, specially assembled by SHIELDGUARD INC, which includes an activated carbon pre-filter film, HEPA filters in series, and a final MERV17 filtering material film. This set, assembled into a single cartridge, is easy to install and/or replace, every 12 months under normal use, or every 6 months under heavy use, to maintain adequate air filtration levels comparable to clean rooms or surgical operating rooms according to ISO 14644-1.
HEPA is a type of pleated mechanical air filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air). It can theoretically remove at least 99% of dust, pollen, mould, bacteria, and airborne particles sized 0.3 microns (µm), the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Particles larger or smaller are trapped with even higher efficiency.
Efficiency in Filtration
Your independent test results demonstrate exceptional real-world performance that surpasses typical HEPA expectations:
| Particle Size | Inlet Count | Outlet Count | Reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 µm | 0 | 0 | 100% |
| 5 µm | 1 | 0 | 100% |
| 3 µm | 3 | 0 | 100% |
| 1 µm | 36 | 0 | 100% |
| 0.5 µm | 1,107 | 3 | ~99.73% |
| 0.3 µm | 16,488 | 92 | ~99.44% |
True HEPA standards require a minimum 99% efficiency at the most penetrating 0.3 µm size (MPPS) under controlled lab conditions. Your results show near-complete elimination across all tested sizes, with only trace passage at 0.3–0.5 µm — meaning dramatically reduced airborne pollutants, allergens, mould spores, and fine particulates in everyday home use. This outperforms many consumer “HEPA-type” products (often 85–95% at best) and aligns closely with or exceeds medical-grade filtration, translating to significantly cleaner indoor air for families, seniors, and allergy sufferers.
Filter Replacement Frequency
- Normal Use (8–12 hours/day): 12 months
- Heavy Use (>12 hours/day): 6 months
PATHOGEN INACTIVATOR & SANITIZING CHAMBER
In the upper chamber, filtered air passes at low speed and receives a controlled dose of UV-C (265 nm) to help inactivate potential pathogens that may have passed through mechanical filtration. The chamber also serves as a sanitizing space for personal items, place objects inside, close the lid, and expose for a minimum of 2 minutes for effective UV-C dosage.
ULTRAVIOLET
UV-C radiation (peak at 265 nm) has a long history of use in disinfection, from water treatment in the 1930s to modern healthcare and air systems. It damages the DNA/RNA of bacteria and viruses, preventing replication. Studies confirm 265 nm is highly effective against pathogens, including coronaviruses, while remaining safe when fully enclosed (as in our design). Always follow safety guidelines, UV-C can harm skin/eyes if exposed directly.
DEVICE OVERVIEW, SET-UP AND USE
The product is designed in two parts: lower (cartridge with HEPA+ filters and fan); upper (chamber with 265 nm UV-C emitters).
Recommended Devices for Sanitization
Quickly sanitize: PPE (masks/respirators), cell phones, tablets, laptops, jewellery, glasses, keys, watches, badges, walkie-talkies, and more. Build the habit of sanitizing items that may carry pathogens from public spaces, especially helpful for vulnerable family members.

Why SHIELDGUARD FILTER is Different from Regular Air Purifiers
Closed Circuit + Positive Pressure – True Whole-Home Protection
Unlike traditional air purifiers that only clean the air in their immediate vicinity.
Traditional Air Purifiers (what most people buy):
- Operate in an open-loop system: they pull in room air from one side, filter it, and blow it back into the same room.
- Fresh (potentially contaminated) air continues to enter the home through windows, doors, vents, leaks, and HVAC returns.
- The filtered air mixes constantly with new unfiltered air → efficiency drops quickly (often only 20–40% of the room air is actually cleaned over time).
- They do not prevent external pollutants from entering the home.
SHIELDGUARD FILTER – Closed Circuit + Positive Pressure Concept
- Captures air directly at the floor vents / return intakes of the central forced-air system (furnace / air conditioner).
- Filters and inactivates pathogens before the air is distributed through the ductwork.
- Releases cleaner, filtered air back into the home, creating positive pressure in the conditioned space.
- This positive pressure gently pushes air out through any small leaks (windows, doors, exhausts), preventing unfiltered outside air from infiltrating.
- The filtered air circulates through the entire central HVAC system → progressively reaches every room in the house (just like if the filter was installed directly in the main unit in the basement).
- Over time (depending on runtime), the home approaches 100% filtered air circulation — a true whole-home solution.
Key Advantages of SHIELDGUARD FILTER Approach
- Isolates the indoor environment from external contamination (pollen, dust, wildfire smoke, urban pollutants, viruses brought in from outside).
- No mixing of filtered and unfiltered air — the efficiency remains high even after hours of operation.
- Works with your existing central HVAC system — no need for standalone units in every room.
- Creates a healthier, more consistent air quality throughout the entire home, not just one area.

Evidence on the effectiveness and safety of ultraviolet germicidal irradiation technologies in reducing SARS-CoV-2 in the air of occupied rooms
The effectiveness and safety of Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) technologies in reducing SARS-CoV-2 in the air of occupied rooms have been extensively studied and reviewed. UVGI utilizes ultraviolet-C (UV-C) radiation to inactivate microorganisms, including viruses like SARS-CoV-2. UV-C has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing SARS-CoV-2 by up to 99.9%.
Various UVGI methods, including upper-room UVGI, whole-room far UV-C, and portable UV air cleaners, have been investigated for their efficacy. Upper-room UVGI, in particular, has been used for over 70 years to reduce the transmission of pathogens like tuberculosis.
Studies have shown that UVGI technologies, when used appropriately, can effectively reduce SARS-CoV-2 transmission in occupied rooms. Upper-room UVGI fixtures, such as wall-mounted UV-C lamps and UV-C ceiling fans, have been effective in reducing viral counts in the air. Simulation studies suggest that combining upper-room UVGI with other public health measures, such as masking and ventilation, can further reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in settings like schools and hospitals.
Portable UV air cleaners have also shown efficacy in filtering airborne droplets containing SARS-CoV-2, with some studies reporting up to 82% filtration efficiency.
Safety concerns regarding UVGI technologies primarily revolve around exposure to UV wavelengths >230 nm, which can have negative effects on human tissue. However, proper system design and maintenance can mitigate these risks. Field investigations have reported safe use of UVGI lamps in occupied hospital rooms, with no overexposure cases reported.
Overall, while UVGI technologies show promise in reducing SARS-CoV-2 transmission in indoor settings, further research and real-world evidence are needed to improve confidence in their effectiveness and safety. Additionally, proper implementation and maintenance are crucial to ensuring the safe and effective use of UVGI technologies in occupied spaces. (Summary by: Clauzer Dziedziensky)

Efficacy of Inactivation of Human Enteroviruses by Dual-Wavelength Germicidal Ultraviolet (UV-C) Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)
Human enteroviruses are significant pathogens causing gastrointestinal and respiratory infections, as well as severe illnesses like viral meningitis. While traditional disinfection methods have limitations, UV light, particularly UV-C emitted by LEDs, shows promise for water treatment due to its effectiveness without generating harmful by-products. However, little research has focused on enterovirus inactivation using UV LEDs. This study investigated the efficacy of UV-C LEDs in deactivating four representative human enterovirus serotypes. Results demonstrated that UV-C LEDs, especially at 260 nm, effectively reduced viral concentrations, surpassing the performance of conventional UV lamps. The study highlights the potential of UV-C LEDs for water disinfection, emphasizing the need for further research to develop sustainable water treatment technologies against waterborne pathogens. Aerosol and Surface Stability of SARS-CoV-2 as Compared with SARS-CoV-1
Important study on the aerosol and surface stability of SARS-CoV-2 compared to SARS-CoV-1. This study and others to be published were very important to establish an understanding of the dynamics of contaminated aerosols, their durability and how an AR filtration system based on HEPA technology (ULPA) and UV-C energy could be designed to seek inactivation of the virus. (Summary by: Clauzer Dziedziensky)
Inactivation of Pathogens in Air Using Ultraviolet Direct Irradiation Below Exposure Limits
The study explores the effectiveness of using low-intensity ultraviolet (UV) light for pathogen inactivation in air, specifically below the actinic exposure limits (EL) to ensure safety in occupied spaces. This method, called Direct Irradiation Below Exposure Limits (DIBEL), uses UV-C light-emitting diodes (LEDs) at 275 nm to achieve significant air disinfection. The research demonstrates that DIBEL can effectively inactivate pathogens like SARS-CoV-2, providing a new layer of indoor air quality improvement without exceeding safe exposure levels. Future advancements in UV-C technology are expected to enhance the efficacy further, potentially surpassing traditional air disinfection methods. (Summary by: Clauzer Dziedziensky)
