Ontario’s frozen assessment roll still moves when a house physically changes: a finished basement, a secondary suite, a renovation. PropCross is the working name for ShieldGuard’s municipal tool that lines up authorized sources and hands staff a review candidate — or suppresses the lead when the evidence is too weak.

How It Works

1. Ingest authorized sources — Open data, licensed feeds, or a partner extract. No listing-portal scrape.
2. Correlate — Match assessment, permits, and the change signal for one address.
3. Explain — A review candidate carries the reason. A weak case is suppressed.
4. Staff decide — Municipal reviewers and the MPAC path stay in charge of any assessment change.

Working name PropCross (Collatio is the other name on the table). Prototype only, with synthetic data. Does not replace MPAC, does not decide tax, and does not promise recovered revenue. Not on the App Store yet.
